MAWJ No.02 - THE SCULPTED VOID

At 100cm tall, this isn't a clock. It's a totem.

Mawj No.02 is the most sculptural piece in the collection. Carved from a single trunk of solid teak, it features three organic voids — openings carved straight through the wood — that make the piece breathe. Light passes through it. The wall behind becomes part of the design.

Where No.01 was a dune, No.02 is erosion. Wind, water, time — the same forces that shape canyons have shaped this clock.

The dial is deliberately minimal. Ivory-white inlaid indices with 12, 3, 6, 9 and warm brass hands, so your eye goes to the sculpture first, and the time second.

This is for tall walls, stairwells, and spaces that need a vertical statement. At one meter high, it does what no round 30cm clock can do.

THE WOOD

Solid teak, sustainably sourced, selected for its deep chocolate grain. Teak is dense, naturally water-resistant and incredibly stable — it won't crack or warp. Each slab has a different flow. Your Void will be one-of-a-kind, never to be repeated.

THE CRAFT - CRAFTED

Crafted in our workshop, each Void takes over a day to sculpt.

The three through-holes are not drilled — they are carved by hand with gouges and rasps, then sanded smooth inside until the inner curves feel like river stone. The outer silhouette is rounded and organic, with no sharp edges. The entire piece is then hand-sanded through 5 grits and sealed with natural hardwax oil, leaving a soft, satin-matte feel that invites touch.

Fitted with a high-torque silent sweep quartz movement. No tick-tick. The brass hands glide silently.

WHY YOU NEED IT

Interior designers call this a "vertical anchor". It draws the eye up, makes ceilings feel higher, and turns an empty wall into a gallery. It works beautifully alone, or paired with No.01 for a duo installation.

CARE

Dust with a soft cloth. Avoid placing directly above radiators. Teak will deepen to a richer brown over time — this is natural patina and part of its character.
